How Green Cars Really Are

Monday, August 31st, 2009

With the issue of global warming taking on international importance in recent years, unsurprisingly the focus has fallen on car drivers, with cars seen as one of the major contributors towards global warming. Green cars have been held up as a potential solution, one that motorists should be embracing.

But are green cars actually ’green’?

Firstly, let’s take pure electric cars. Unfortunately these electric cars are anything but good for the environment. The electricity that they run on is produced in power stations, where only 30-40% of the energy is converted into electricity. Transferring this electricity along electric cables then results in a further 30% being lost to heat energy. So by the time this electricity reaches an electric car a huge amount of the energy has already been lost. Good for cutting down inner city pollution but efficient it certainly isn’t.

Recently hybrid cars have been preferred, cars that contain both an electric motor and a petrol engine. The battery for the motor is powered by the energy generated from braking. When it comes to being ‘green’ these cars in theory offer many more environmental benefits.

In practice this isn’t necessarily the case. Consumer magazine Which? tested four hybrid cars by driving them throughout London. The results were disappointing, as mentioned by George Marshall-Thornhill, senior researcher for Which?, “Some of these should have performed much better.” And this is all without mentioning how to dispose of troublesome electric batteries.

Then there’s the cost of hybrid cars. The Toyota Prius is the most popular hybrid car and can be purchased for around £17,000. However, with fuel economy claims in doubt and 55% of people believing that green cars are too expensive, there is still some way to go before green cars arrive on a large scale.

The facts are that green cars use more energy to produce, are harder to dispose of, their fuel economy claims have been doubted, and they are simply too expensive. The age of the green car has not arrived yet.

Personalized Model Cars The Perfect Gift For Any Car Lover

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Are you looking for the perfect gift for the car lover in your life? While there are several things you could get them such as a car picture, a new mug with their favourite car on it or a cool tee shirt with an awesome car on it. But aren’t these all things you have given this person before? For people who love a certain thing the options for gift giving begin to dwindle quickly as the holidays pass by year after year. A person can only have so many pictures, so many new coffee mugs and so many different shirts before the idea of gift giving really becomes a stressful thing instead of a joy. If you are at this point then there is one gift you might not have thought of, a branded model car.

With a printed model car you can not only choose the kind of car you want to purchase but you can also chose the colour of the car and the details that will go on it. These promotional model cars can then also be personalised with the gift recipients name on the hood, trunk or down the side of the car. That will make this particular promotional gift one that is so much more personal and enjoyable.

So what occasions are the best for giving a branded model car? Just about any occasion will be appropriate for giving the gift of a promotional model car. Ideally you want to give you gift to a person who is old enough to be responsible for the care of the branded model cars. These gifts are not really toys to be played with rather they are items to be admired.

If you have a child who is turning 16 years old and getting his or her license then a branded model car would be a great gift for their sweet 16. You could also give this branded model car to a child who is turning 18 years old and heading into adulthood. Giving the gift of a special branded model car can end up being the highlight of a very special birthday.

A branded model car is also a great gift to give to someone who is retiring. Many people who have a passion for cars will begin to develop that passion even more after they retire. Giving them the gift of a printed model car would be a great farewell present. Don’t forget to personalise it with a “Happy Retirement” along with the date so they can always remember when they received this very special gift.

As you can see there is no set holiday or occasion where you can or cannot give the gift of a printed model car. Just make sure to think long and hard about the perfect model along with the perfect colour since you will have so many different models and colours to choose from this will be the hard part. Picking out a great message to personalise the model cars with will be the easy part.

Should You Buy A Hybrid Car

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

A hybrid car is a specifically planned and made vehicle that mixes the strength of the conventional gasoline motor and electricity. In the past, many have referred to hybrid cars as electric cars.

Technically, a hybrid automobile can not be classified as just electric because only about 40% of the energy use of the vehicle is from electric sources, in the form of collected electricity in batteries.

As oil costs continue to rise with depleting supplies and rapid expansion in demand, all economies globally are experiencing the setbacks of the need to limit high use of fuel.

For a long time, research and improvement has been vigorously finding ways on how struggles in regards to very high demand could finally be abolished. With the invention of the hybrid automobile, car owners and drivers all over the world are now manifesting comfort that yes there is hope.

Though the wide use of hybrid cars provides hope that in the future, when oil sources finally and fully run out, the transportation industry will not experience the drawback. Yes, at this time, driving a hybrid car could result in huge savings for the car owner.

At least, the overall usage of oil could be significantly reduced. Research continues to be ongoing so that in the near future, further more efficient versions of the modern hybrid car can be developed and launched into the market.

However, just like many other predecessor technologies, there are many problems to owning and using a hybrid automobile. Many people hope that in the upcoming months or years, people can finally realize a better and more useful hybrid vehicle. Here are the most realistic and understandable of those frustrations.

If the hybrid automobile gets into possible accidents and collisions in the future, there is a possibility that the incident would be more tragic. A hybrid automobile traditionally and usually has high voltage cables within it.

Because hybrid cars are still not quite rampant and regular, purchasing spare parts may be very challenging, if not impossible. In addition, costs of spare parts can be rather costly.

Any hybrid automobile needs to allocate a significant amount of space for batteries. Because the hybrid automobile needs batteries to make it work and for the use of some if its functions, the total weight of the automobile gets greater and greater.

Because the hybrid vehicle technology is still a fairly new automobile technology, it is just certain that the automobile is costly. On the average, a hybrid car these days costs more than the standard and typical automobiles by approximately $3,000 to $6,000.

That is just an average and is expected with the high demand for the car as more buyers get thrilled about it and manufacturers continue to make the automobile models on a restricted ability.

There are several states in the United States and some other global governments globally that are charging additional fees and other charges for possession and registration.

A regular and even basic hybrid automobile is composed of a very sophisticated automobile system. Thus, ordinary mechanics likely would not have the necessary and required skill set and understanding to attend to any technical requirement for repair of any hybrid automobile.

Do Water Powered Cars Really Work?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Rising fuel prices are a reality. So is the technology for a water powered car. Yes, you read that right. Scientists have developed a device that extracts HHO from ordinary water through a process called electrolysis. Although water will not be the primary fuel used, a water powered car can be a genuine solution to our dependence on expensive oil.

While water fueled cars may sound like something out of a science-fiction book, the principles behind this procedure come out of a high school chemistry book. By passing an electric current through water, the individual atoms of hydrogen and oxygen are removed from the water, creating a compound known as HHO. This is a type of gas commonly known as Brown gas that can be burned cleanly while supplying a stable source of energy.

Once produced, the Brown gas is directed to the airflow that is located in the intake manifold of the car’s engine. After this, it is mixed with the gasoline and both fuels are combusted or burned together, creating the power needed to drive the car. The wonderful part about this invention is the fact that it doesn’t require an overhaul of the car’s engine or a costly setup of equipment. Water powered cars only need a device that is placed under the hood. This device can be removed or replaced without a lot of mechanical skill, which increases the advantages of this invention.

The benefits of water fueled cars are enormous. Although the technology doesn’t exist yet to run a car completely on water, this device can dramatically improve gas mileage. The extraction of HHO from water can easily supplement the current fuel usage and decrease our nation’s dependency on foreign oil sources. An added bonus is the more efficient running of the car’s engine. When burned as an energy source, Brown gas produces water and oxygen as by-products. This makes it a more environmentally friendly fuel, as it doesn’t contribute any harmful substances to the atmosphere and even joins in the fight against global warming with its decreased carbon dioxide emission. Besides the favorable impact on the environment and the obvious financial savings to your gas tank, this type of technology also becomes an IRS deduction.

The next question we should all be asking is “Why isn’t this device installed in every car?” That’s harder to answer than explaining how the extraction process works. For many years, the control of oil equals power. If water powered cars became widely available, the quest for oil would diminish and the key world leaders would be shuffled—possibly to their disadvantage.

The science behind water powered cars has been in existence for about 20 years. Unfortunately, this amazing device hasn’t received the accolades or the attention it deserves. The principles behind powering a car with ordinary water have been proven to be effective, yet, the next step is a wider dissemination of this knowledge, which will result in a much-needed outcry by drivers for the government to fully sponsor such technology. The gas crisis is real but water fueled cars may be the start of a brand new and economical solution.

Korean Cars On The Rise

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

In the diverse industry of automotive, the Americans are generally linked with size and power, anything European gets an assumed sense of higher refinement and the Japanese are legendary when it comes to reliability. The third region mention, Japan, used to be the only name coming from Asia where cars are concerned. Of course, there have been more manufacturers from several more Asian countries over the years but only one of the rising nations pose a threat not only to Japan’s Asian and global domination but also to all the major players in automotive markets all over the world as well; the Koreans.

Toyota and Honda have already cemented their place as possibly the most trusty car brands in the world today. What those two names are to Japan, Kia and Hyundai are to Korea. Korean cars only began to penetrate international markets realistically in the early 90s. Even back then, most of them were just deemed as cheap cars, in terms of both price and what the car actually is. Compared to its Japanese rivals of which costs do not defer too much during those days, it was quite true as the Korean cars always seemed to lack the kind of quality and refinement an established company could provide.

However, these manufacturers are moving at such an incredible pace that they’re toppling most western marquees in many countries in terms of sales and are outselling many American brands on American soil of late, gaining money while the once great GM falls into bankruptcy. These car makers are advancing at such an incredible rate that they are turning their very well design concepts into production cars much faster than most manufacturers do. While some would argue that the wait is necessary for the manufacturer to fine tune every part and revise the designs, recent Korean examples like the Kia Soul and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe simply show that the cars they build are still top notch.

Apart from Kia and Hyundai, Daewoo is another significant Korean car manufacturer. They have advanced to an extent where almost all of their new models in their current line up are sold under more established and recognized brands, especially Chevrolet, among other GM brands like Opel, Suzuki and Vauxhall under the company’s rebadging strategies to win over different markets worldwide. While GM may not be in a position to shout about of late, the fact that Daewoo and the cars they make figured so much in their marketing plans internationally only show the prowess of the Korean manufacturer and the cars it engineers. Ssangyong is another Korean manufacturer not quite as big as the rest but worth mentioning nonetheless as most of the cars they make borrow Mercedes Benz engines and gearbox technologies used in Porsches. While they are not in a financially happy period either, the underpinnings of their cars and the ambition Ssangyong show are rather worth a nod for a not so widely recognized brand name.

Generally, big or small, the fact is that Korean manufacturers are making their presence felt if not so already. At the incredible speed they are improving themselves, it will be no wonder to see them directly head to head with the more establish likes of Honda and Toyota for example as judging from automotive rankings around the globe today, there is a Korean name on almost every top 10 list already.

Nissan Cars Get Style From Marc Ecko

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

Do you think that Nissan vehicles sport around an exterior that does not just quite get your attention?

Well, not anymore. You see, the Nissan Motor Corporation’s North American division, Nissan North America, Inc. or NNA, has just went into a partnership with Marc Ecko. So now you ask who is Marc Ecko? Let us just say that Marc Ecko is the a creator of design in the industry of lifestyle and fashion. These two are now joining forces so as to give Nissan vehicles a whole new look. And what could be more interesting than the interaction and combination of design from the auto world as well as that of the fashion industry.

Jan Thompson is the vice president of marketing for the NNA and Thompson exclaims, “Both the Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Armada are known for their power, style and energy which is also characteristic of Marc Ecko’s creative artistry and compelling vision. His design will bring together two great brands that already have an established relationship with street culture, making it a natural and ideal fit.” However, if you are thinking that this kind of merge of design is not your thing, do not worry for there would still be the very same type of Nissan design in several of the company’s vehicles. Plus, auto parts Nissan would come as they are – simple yet quality made.

So what would be the first two vehicles to receive a makeover? According to the company, Ecko would be giving his best to give two of Nissan’s vehicles a whole new look. Modifications would be done by the designer on the Nissan Pathfinder as well as the Nissan Armada. Both of these vehicles are popular sport utility vehicles in the Nissan range. Sure enough, Ecko promises to give these sporty vehicles a hip and new design, just like those products that his company offers the market. He even assesses, “Side by side, these two vehicles share a design heritage, yet each ahs its own distinct character. My goal is to take that character to the next level and to express the vehicles’ individuality through bold, original design and superior execution.”

The Invention Of The Rubber Stamp

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Rubber Stamps have an interesting history for those who don’t know that they might have been inspired by dentures. Yes, it’s true: dental dentures! But first, some background, as Charles Goodyear had to discover the process of vulcanization. This is the process of “curing” rubber such that it can be molded as required. Before Mr. Goodyear’s discovery, rubber — in its natural state — was not easy to work with at all.It is sticky and cannot stay set in a particular shape. But with vulcanization, rubber, once cooled, would hold the shape in which it had been molded.

Yet unfortunately, poor Mr. Goodyear was not able to benefit financially from his invention, though he was publicly recognized by the Emperor of France, Napoleon himself, and prestigiously decorated with many honors. His invention, however, soon found many applications that would change the world. One of these was dentures. Rubber was deermed a great replacement material for the dentures of the day, which were often made of metal or even wood.Dentists had long been making their own dentures, and one of these many dentists had a curious nephew who saw the potential of rubber and eventually wound up manufacturing rubber stamps for the U.S. Postal Service. This nephew was a certain Mr. James Woodruff, is often credited with having invented the modern rubber stamp we know today. But there are, actually, many different versions for how rubber stamps came to be, depending on exactly how a rubber stamp is defined, with one reaching back all the way to the ancient Mayans! This version just presented is among the most widely accepted accounts for the marking devices which we today would most immediately recognize as being a rubber stamp.

Another very popular and widely acknowledged account for the invention the rubber stamp involves a Mr. L.F. Witherell, who went so far as to compose a document titled “How I Came to Discover the Rubber Stamp” wherein he claimed to have been inspired during work as a foreman at a wooden pump factory. According to Mr. Witherell, there was a problem one day involving the paint that was used to mark the pumps. The paint would run and create obscuring blotches in front of necessary information. Mr. Witherell hit upon the idea of creating stencils out of some thin sheets of rubber packing laying around. But while making the stencil, he thought further and decided to simply create thick letters out of the rubber, then glue them to a backing of wood, with which he could make many impressions of the necessary marks.

The one account thought least plausible involves a Mr. Henry C. Leland, who was even championed, ironically, during his time by none other than the “Stamp Trade News,” published by a rubber stamp manufacturer. But no mater its origins, there is no doubt that the rubber stamp itself has left quite an enduring impression on our lives.

Find Your Way Using Nokia Maps

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

As Audiovox Cell Phones No Contracts pulls a few rabbits out of the hat in the No Contract Cell Phones industry, Nokia Cell Phones has pulled out a pleasant marketing strategy to sweeten their already solid deals on smart phones. They have decided that for 10 of their cell phones they’re going to give away completely free navigation software with it. This navigation software is built into the phone and works without wireless web, thus if no net is available navigating a new town or neighborhood is still as easy as ever.

The idea behind it is to give the customers a high quality product that has become virtually a necessity in this time and so help the mobile sales. That’s not to say Nokia Cell Phones is suffering in the market, they are not, but why don’t you give the company a boost if it is feasible. And the navigation programme which they are offering is not just one that works without wireless web but it is also one that features turn by turn directions, travel guides and even voice prompts.

The move is said to hurt outside firms that make navigation software for phones like iPhone and sell it for more than free. Nevertheless if Nokia Cell Phones can afford to make such a move there is no reason not to. Of course , it is their privilege. And as customers we have got to like that the contest has gotten so tight that now things we might have payed for anyhow are now being given to us for free . But it’s’s similarly nice that regardless of whether we aren’t able to buy such products we are still getting them.

The smartphone market has actually amped up in the year with many companies understanding what is needed to achieve success in this new landscape and breaking the contest completely open. There’s now no clear cut leader in the sector rather some corporations all getting more innovative and giving the consumer an amplitude to select from. And again, Nokia Cell Phones as well as many other corporations revving up the contest has only made a rather more delightful market for patrons. Better products, less expensive products, more offers, and there appears no end in sight. This author is just waiting for a free phone and service plan, and then he will be satisfied. O.K, so I am being a bit precocious, but the reader does understand the point that’s being made, right? It is a consumers market and there is not any reason to not be satisfied about it.

More Customers Opting For Alternative Fuel Cars

Friday, August 14th, 2009

The prices of gas and fuel have already gone down but it seems like the market has already learned much during that experience. You see, according to dealers and retailers as well as manufacturers of vehicles in the auto market, more and more American customers are purchasing cars and vehicles that run on alternative fuel. The list of alternative fuel vehicles include those hybrid vehicles as well as those that could run on diesel and ethanol.

According to Fred Webber, the current president and chief executive of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, “Our priority is to get the word out that alternative fuel autos are on sale now, and these vehicles are the quickest way to reduce gasoline use. No one wants to see high gas prices and concerns about energy security, but the good news about today’s energy situation is that more Americans are purchasing one of the many fuel efficient automobiles on sale today.” The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers is actually an organization that represents nine of the automakers which sell their products around the globe as well as in the United States.

Sure enough, more and more people are opting to own one unit of these alternative fuel vehicles. One thing is that they would be getting much on savings. Fuel prices may have gone down but the alternative sources of energy for a vehicle to run do cost much, much less. Plus, maintaining them is not that difficult for many replacements parts for these alternative vehicles are readily available in the market along with other parts like Pontiac performance parts. The auto world is now opening up their arms to these alternative fuel vehicles so much so that keeping them in good condition now becomes an easy and economical task.

Webber even further adds, “Every model of auto is available today with some kind of fuel efficient technology, such as variable valve timing, continuously variable transmissions, and cylinder deactivation. We urge all consumers to check out these fuel efficient options on dealers’ lots today.” The list of fuel efficient vehicles in the market includes hybrids like the Honda Insight, the Toyota Prius, the Ford Escape Hybrid, and the Toyota Sienna Hybrid.

Apple Dominates Once Again

Friday, August 14th, 2009

MetroPCS Cell Phones No Contract became one of the most extraordinary firms in No Contract Cell Phones history but unable to comply against the bone crushing iPhone. The iPhone is a top-tier smartphone, no doubt about it, with the assistance of ATT Cell Phones. While a host of competition has come into the smartphone picture, a world that was once controlled by the iPhone, ATT cell phones and Blackberry cell phones, it appears as if the iPhone is a market favorite. Imitation is the best sort of flattery, and the iPhone has had plenty of that, but who wants flattery when you’re phone is boasting some of its best number to date?

Yes, a day before Apple was set to unveil its new PC, they set a record for 4th quarter profits. Reputedly they sold 8.7 million iPhones in the quarter. That is’s more than they sold in all of 2008! The companies’ quarterly profit climbed from 2.3 billion a year ago to 3.4 billion this year and the total cash between the two years went from 11.9 billion~ to 15.7 billion bucks. These numbers proved enough to be their best quarter ever and if the tablet does well, things might continue getting better. It’s fantastic that a computing giant went from exactly producing PCs right into the world of cell phones with the help of ATT Cell Phones, and in the matter of 4 or 5 years. But it is’s not that cut and dry, no this company revolutionized the cell phone industry with apps ( AKA applications ) miniscule programs that may be downloaded to the device for a tiny fee or free, that may range all the way from cooking instructions to music minutiae. They also brought the patent protected multi-touch screen to the table, a feature where, with 2 fingers, one can zoom in or out on the touch sensitive screen. These are the tiny things that are making the big difference for the company at this juncture.

It’s absolutely amazing the inventiveness that comes with this company as well as the design schemes. It’s all so clean and elegant, and the functionality simply can’t be beat. But to round it off, their invention has rubbed off onto other corporations leading to more creative and out of the box thinking, and so, giving the purchasers better products, more frequently. Yes now Blackberry and ATT Cell Phones have rethought some of their concepts and companies like HTC, Google and Samsung have all stepped out into this new world of smartphone inventiveness, giving way to healthy competition and brilliant products. Sometimes all are inspired when one gets the metaphorical light bulb turn on in the head. And we cannot be happier about it.

Getting Business Referrals the Easy Way

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Referrals can be as important as any other customers. When people refer someone to you, there is a possibility that you can turn those referrals into customers straight away. Referral is seen as the back bone of marketing. Of course to get the referral system going smoothly for your business is rather difficult but not impossible. All you need is a network of people you can trust and try to get them to refer new customers to you.

Before you can request for referrals, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. First of all, make sure that your business is a reputable business, not some crappy company promising everything and delivers nothing. When you can deliver results as promised to your customers, then you can request for referrals. This is because to get someone to refer people to your business requires them to try out your services beforehand. Therefore quality is most important when you deliver your services.

Secondly, make sure that you have some incentive for the referrer. You don’t expect them to refer people to you for nothing do you? There is no free lunch in this world, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay them cash for every person they refer to you. What you can do is offer them gift vouchers, discounts whenever they use your services and maybe other freebies you can think of as a way of gratitude. This is a way of saying “thank you” for referring those people who have become your customers along the way.

When you request for referrals, be sure to request in a polite way or friendly way. Do not sound as if you are pressuring them into finding people to refer to you. Some people doesn’t like to be a referrer but if you can keep their interest high, they might do it for you. Remember to keep a stack of business cards whenever you go so you can hand them to your potential referrer.

Having high quality referrals would be the best thing for your business. This is because you can expect more than half of the referrals to be your customers in the long run. Keep in touch with every one of them is definitely helpful too as networking is a need for marketing. You need to have audience for your marketing so start networking with people around you and those referrals.

Referrals don’t come easy when it comes to owning a business. It’s going to take time and there’s no magic switch when it comes to turning it on and automatically get referrals. As you may know by now as a business owner, getting new customers and referrals don’t come easy but you’ll soon find out that if you build a great brand and product, you’ll be so busy, you can’t keep up. That’s always a good sign. Make a great product, promote it a little bit and If people like it, you’ll be so busy, you can’t keep up.

Safety Considerations When Purchasing Fast Cars

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

According to studies, fast cars are more often involved in road accidents compared to other types of cars. People who drive their fast cars almost to the limits sometimes lose control of their cars that they end up either skidding off the road, get into collision with other vehicles and other forms road accidents. However, the good news is that although fast cars are often involved in road accidents, these incidents are not really much related to the technical defects or the overall set-up of the vehicle itself.

Experts believe that fast cars are actually built to perform well on the road but the driving skills of the people behind the wheels may not be at par with the power of the fast car. In most cases, the drivers of fast cars overestimate their driving skills and end up losing control of their cars. Since accidents do happen, it is therefore very important to drive carefully and never abuse the power of your fast car. Furthermore, before you do buy cars, you should check out the safety features of the car thoroughly.

Safety Features That You Should Look For In Fast Cars

The first thing that you need to check when buying fast cars is the safety features. Your car should have antilock braking systems (ABS). The ABS will allow you to stop your car fast. Good ABS will help you deal with certain tight situations on the road. During panic stops, the ABS will allow you to steer you car and prevent any untoward incidents. To learn more about the ABS of fast cars, ask your car dealer to explain to you in details how this feature works. You may also ask the car dealer to demonstrate how the ABS works so that you will have a concrete idea of how your car will perform in tight situations.

Aside from the ABS, you should take a closer look into the traction control of the fast car. This feature will help prevent traction loss while your car is speeding. This feature can be very helpful especially during extreme weathers and when you are driving at top speed in some winding road. Combined with the ABS, the traction control will help you keep your car stable on the road even during bad weathers.

However, since this feature do have its own limitations, driving slowly and carefully during extreme weather conditions is still very much advisable. Never for one moment think that because your car have good safety features, you can still drive fast even during extreme weather conditions.

On the other hand, since accidents do happen, it always pays to check the airbag features of the fast car before you buy it. Look for airbags at the front and side of the car. Knee airbags are also very important.

Nokia Money Takes The Battle For Easy Payments

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Panasonic Cell Phones No Contract have been in and out of battles with other No Contract Cell Phone companies for quite some time. In the middle of a silly battle for clients, the smartphone and cell phone firms are doing anything and everything critical to claim their place and keep their clients. Cars With Built In Vehicle Tracking

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Vehicle tracking is widely known now as something that can be bought and then placed inside the car. These vehicle tracking devices make use of a global positioning system (GPS) that can find the location of the device anywhere on the planet. Because these devices make use of satellites, they work anywhere in the world, and can be accessed from any computer if one has the right software and knows the proper codes.

With vehicle tracking devices like Lo/Jack (used by law enforcement) many people protect their cars from theft. But until the advent of the OnStar service, these devices had to be purchased and then put into the car. But now many GM-made vehicles come standard with OnStar built right in, and there is more to this service than just vehicle tracking.

OnStar makes use of vehicle tracking as a sort of safety measure. You have to pay a monthly service, however (many of the dealers that sell cars with this service offer a year free). You can call OnStar on your cell and they can perform a number of services, including unlocking your doors if you lock your keys in. This might actually worry some people, as it is uncomfortable to know that someone can just unlock your car door like that.

But, the main safety advantage is that if you are in an accident and cannot use your phone, the OnStar people can use the vehicle tracking to locate your car and send emergency crews. This can offer peace of mind. But it does not completely erase the privacy questions raised by a service that has almost total access to your car. Some people are not comfortable with this arrangement. Besides, if you sell the car, there goes your device. When you own the device separately, all you need to do is transfer it to the new car.

Luckily, if you want to be able to have vehicle tracking without the creepy privacy violations, it is possible to buy vehicle trackers separately from a variety of reputable online dealers. This can give you true peace of mind, knowing that your car is as protected as you can make it with your very own vehicle tracking.

Measuring Your Business Success

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

The first major step in any business is getting started. Forming a new business is an exciting, dynamic and very satisfying endeavor in the beginning. There is a lot of energy at this stage because of the numerous factors that go into your new business venture. Once that part is done, however, there is another process that may not seem as exciting but is just as important. The next step is to measure the success of your new business. Your business idea may be stellar, and your research can be right on the money, but if you don’t take the time to measure your results once you have been in business for a while then you could be doomed to fail.

Essentially, by measuring your success you are able to see if you are doing the right things and implementing your business plan effectively. You need to measure the business processes that you started out with in the beginning to determine if they are still working. But how do you know what to measure and how to measure it?

The very first thing you have to do is define your business by what it does and what you as a business owner wants to achieve. That way you will know if you hit the goal or not. Setting up definable goals will make measuring a whole lot easier. For example, if your company is a restaurant and your goal is defined to “provide a great dining experience for people,” then that is hardly a measurable item. Now, if you add to that statement, “provide a great dining experience for people by making an American breakfast and lunch menu second to none in the region.” That has some substance to it. Now there can be appropriate goals and plans made around that. All choices related to food, staffing, advertising, and location can be made very clear. Once it comes time to measure what’s working it will be clear if there are areas that need more attention.

Once you’ve defined the goals for your company and have been working towards them for a while, then you can start measuring. One of the major things a business needs to measure is its profit. There needs to be a good system in place to track all the income and expenses that are incurred throughout a specific period of time. Business owners who are loose with their numbers might not be getting all the profit they could. You need to have an organized record-keeping system to make sure things are staying on track. Just because you took in $10,000 in new sales in one month doesn’t mean you get to keep it all! Make sure that you have a very detailed way of tracking expenses and income on all levels. This will allow you to see if your money is doing the most it could.

So if you have a great business and you want to keep it that way, make sure to measure your success as you grow. Believe me, you won’t regret it!

Consequently many different styles have guarded numerous a disc (or more, in the circumstance of boxed sets and this kind of) throughout the almost two decades because the format’s debut.
